With 10 years experience in physiotherapy across both the NHS and private sector I have a wealth of knowledge of musculoskeletal and sports injury as well as rehabilitation following surgery.
I have also worked with golfers and golf coaches for the last 5 years across a wide range in terms of handicap, ability and age.
When analysing the golf swing it requires mobility and stability across different joints unlike any other activity we do in our daily life. TPI and Physio screening can identify any areas that are hindering your golf swing and can address these to optimise your body which in turn will optimise your golf swing. This is called the body-swing connection. It also helps to prevent and reduce repetitive overload injury from golf. It adds power, consistency and longevity to your game.
I am qualified in TPI screening to conduct key golf movement analysis.
Session times are longer than average physiotherapy appointments allowing extra treatment and explanation as well as the chance to get to know your individual needs. Treatment is often hands on and any exercise programmes are individualised and realistic for your lifestyle.
This looks at key movements that the golf swing requires and identifies any physical limitations that may be impacting on your game. It also looks for muscle imbalance and altered movement patterns in the body. A treatment plan of mobility and strengthening exercises will then be provided to address any issues.
Physiotherapy services cover assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injury as well as post surgery rehab. Treatment is personalised to your individual needs but is generally hands on including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, acupuncture and exercise rehab.
This option includes the TPI movement screen and report identifying any physical limitations and an exercise plan to address these.
A 60 minute consultation including the TPI screen as well as a more thorough physiotherapist assessment assessing for altered movement patterns and muscle imbalance. Includes an exercise programme to address the findings of the assessment and hands on treatment if required.
This will be tailored to your individual rehab needs. It may include hands on treatment, acupuncture, Pilates and exercise rehab.
1:1 Pilates to improve your mobility and stability.
A thorough assessment of your injury, diagnosis, education, hands on treatment and a home exercise programme.
Follow on treatment after your initial assessment progressing your rehabilitation as well as hands on treatment. Treatment can include soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, acupuncture and exercise rehab.
